Advertising rules

Vendor History is only useful if you can trust that nothing here is for sale. We don't sell any advertising today. If we ever do, these rules apply, and they don't change for any amount of money.

1. No vendor we track can advertise, sponsor or pay us in any way.
2. No one can pay to remove, delay, soften or add commentary to a record. Corrections are free, and they're based only on the public source. See Corrections.
3. Every ad is labeled "Sponsored" and never placed inside a list of incidents.
4. Sponsors are limited to services that help businesses respond to incidents: IT providers, cyber insurance brokers, data breach lawyers and security training.
5. We don't rank or recommend sponsors, and paying doesn't buy a better position on any page.
6. Sponsors never get our readers' data. We never sell, rent or share the email list.
